Music

For most of the projects in this portfolio, I have composed all the music in them. I’ve found that nothing brings together the experience of a game quite like the right song. You can find a collection of some of my favorite pieces here.

For Oil Spill, I composed the song Oil Panic. It’s meant to create a frantic feeling to match the bullet-hell pace. The use of accordion is reminiscent of pirates, and thus the ocean.
For Dormant Genes, I composed Mission Destruction. It’s meant to sound epic and intense, evoking the sense that you are a secret agent. It gives the simple experience of collecting coins far more gravitas.

I made two songs for Stop Playing My Game, A_Modified_World and Your_Modified_End. The First is meant to be upbeat, while the second is far more intense, only able to be heard after you’ve beaten at least 10 levels.
The final song, Perfectly Trimmed Hedges, was not made for a specific game, I simply wanted to make a calmer, slower paced piece. Again, you can listen to all these songs here.
